School fees waiver issue and regulatory mechanism PAN India for fees collection during the lockdown.

Supreme Court refused to entertain a plea seeking a waiver of school fees for a period of 3 months from April to June and regulatory mechanism PAN India for fees collection during the lockdown.

A bench comprises chief justice SA Bobde, AS Bopanna and Subhash Reddy said that petitioners may go to high courts of the respective states.
The PIL filed by parents associations of 9 different states

The plea put forth different issues that have surfaced due to a pandemic situation and subsequent lockdown.

Harmful effects of online education and the plight of poor parents of inability to access online recourses are also highlighted.

The plea seeks direction to governments to instruct the schools not to charge any other charges except tuition fees for April to June 2020, and not to strike off names of students from school rolls in case of non-payment of fees.
