National Symposium on SCHOOL HEALTH CARE at Le Meridian Hotel Connaught Place held by ASSOCHAM in collaboration with NITI Ayog & Ministry of Women and Child Development.

In India, about 1.52 million public and private schools, employ 9 million teachers and staff to educate 260 million pre-kindergarten through grade 12 students every school day, usually for 13 of the most formative years of their lives. The health and well-being of such young people is not a matter of luck. It is not a chance or random event. It must be a planned outcome. The case for well-designed, well-resourced, and sustained health education in the nation’s schools is compelling.

Schools play a critical role in promoting the health of young people and helping them establish lifelong healthy lifestyle & behaviors. It is a proven fact that healthier children learn better, and, reciprocally, more educated adults lead healthier, more productive, wealthier, and longer lives. More specifically, children learn better if they are not malnourished, obese, physically and mentally unfit, abusing alcohol or drugs or needing medical attention.

The wellbeing of students is an important consideration for a country to make, as it is school children who represent a country’s future potential. Keeping current in the field of school health, ASSOCHAM hosted a “NATIONAL SCHOOL HEALTHCARE SYMPOSIUM: Redefine Health for Children & Adolescents” on June 13, 2019, in Hotel Le-Meridien, New Delhi. The principal focus of this symposium was to identify interventions to successfully support students health needs and to discover new ways to keep our students in school and engaged in learning when they experience health difficulties. This symposium both inspire and assist school districts to identify systematic strategies that support student health.

In view of the importance of the subject, Delhi Parents Association President Aprajita Gautam was also invited to address the Panel Session on “CHILD HEALTH – Challenges faced by the Schools vis-à-vis What Parents Desire” at this important symposium which took place at Hotel Le-Meridien, New Delhi on Thursday, 13 June 2019 at 02:30 PM.
